Hereby I want to focus your attention on a lecture which is organized for you in Utrecht by this SPE Student Chapter. Soon I will send you a overview of the events organized in January and Febuary, when I have the exact data.
December the 22nd 2010: SPE-lecture in Utrecht (5.00pm): Hydrocarbon storage in Bergermeer reservoir
On this wednesday the Student Chapter Utrecht (SCU) has organized a lecture by an alumnus of the Utrecht University. Pieter Bruinen will discuss with you Underground Gas Storage of Hydrocarbons in the Bergermeer reservoir. The Bergermeer gas field near Alkmaar has produced approximately 16 billion m3 of gas since its first well came on stream in the early seventies. The large size of this reservoir, its characteristics, and the location with respect to existing infrastructure make this depleted gas field a very suited candidate for the storage of hydrocarbons. Once the storage is fully operational, Bergermeer will be the biggest gas storage facility in Europe.The lecture starts at 5.00pm and from 6.00pm there is a nice social arranged by the local student society U.G.V.. The drinks and snacks will be free this afternoon!
